The Prince Edward Island Holstein Branch was pleased to host our Breeders Cup on-farm competition January 8-9th 2025, featuring entries from 18 Island farms. Over 60 animals in four classes were evaluated by judge David Crack of Richmond, Quebec.
Judge Crack selected his winning Third Lactation Cow, Mactalla Sidekick Rayban, bred and exhibited by Mactalla Farms of Bonshaw, PEI, as the Grand Champion, praising her as “a cow that spells milk, quality, dairyness throughout, [has] an incredible mammary system, straight lines [and] a beautiful head and neck”.
The Reserve Grand Champion title was awarded to first place Second Lactation cow, Weeksdale Chief Alexis, bred and exhibited by Weeksdale Holsteins of Breadalbane, PEI. Weeksdale Holsteins were also named the Premier Breeder of the competition.
